We recommend that you purchase your medical insurance prior to your arrival within Canada. Otherwise, a waiting period of 48 - 72 hours (depending on insurer) will apply to benefits.

While we recommend that you purchase your medical insurance before you arrive, you still qualify for coverage. If you apply after you arrive in Canada, illness that occurs in the first 48 hours is not covered. Your accident coverage begins immediately.
